Manchester United are planning to hijack Barcelona’s swoop for French striker Antoine Griezmann and are prepared to break the bank in order to do so.

The Frenchman seemed destined to switch allegiances from Atletico Madrid to Barcelona but the Red Devils are willing to offer around £95 million to secure his services.

Barca are still yet to make an official move for the forward which has given United an opening as they are set for a major boost in their transfer budget after both Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba are set to depart the club.

This was further exacerbated with his comments post France’s defeat of Andorra in a European qualifier when he said that he wasn’t sure whether his future would be in La Liga.

United will also face competition from PSG who are looking to lure the Frenchman back home as they face an uncertain future regarding two of their star forwards – Neymar and Kylian Mbappe who may leave the club in the summer transfer window.

The pressure is now on United to make a move for the 28-year-old who may help spearhead a surge up the table for the languishing giants who will be without Champions League football next season which may work against the giants.
