England went down to the USA and are confident they can get bronze in France when they take on Sweden. The Lionesses’ Ellen White has scored six goals in five games this tournament and said they still want to take something home.
“I think it would be a huge disappointment [if we didn’t win].
“A medal would be something that we’ll be really proud of and we can look each other in the eye and think we did achieve something at this World Cup.” White told BBC Sport.
Sweden on the other hand, lost in extra time to the Netherlands, and will also pick themselves up after a heartbreaking defeat. The Scandinavians have only conceded five goals. Hanna Glas, Hedvig Lindahl and Nilla Fischer have been crucial for Sweden and England will find them tough to break down.
