
The draw for both the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 Qualifiers and also the AFC U-19 Championship 2020 Qualifiers was held in Malaysia, revealing the fate for two of the Australian youth national teams.
Trevor Morgan’s U-17 Joeys are pitted in Group H along with: Vietnam, Timor-Leste, Mongolia and Macau. The 11 group winners will gain direct entry into the AFC U-16 Championship while four best second-placed teams will qualify as well.
As for the U-20 Young Socceroos, the coaching position is currently vacant. The team are also in Group H with Chinese Taipei, Macau and Laos. The U-20 teams were divided into two zones of West (25 teams) and East also with 25 teams.
Top spot in the respective groups will earn direct qualification, while the four best second-placed teams will also advance to the 2020 finals. The Qualifiers will be played between the 2nd and 10th of November later this year.
