Mauricio Pochettino has suggested that he could leave Tottenham at the end of the season if he is successful in winning the Champions League.

The Argentine has defied the odds this season, guiding Tottenham to their first ever semi-final of the competition despite not buying any players in the past two transfer windows.

Speaking in his pre-match presser, Pochettino shocked journalists when he suggested that he could move on after this season.

“Winning the Champions League? It should be fantastic, no? Close the five-year chapter and go home,” he said.

“To win in these circumstances this season, maybe I need to think about maybe doing something different in the future.”

It is unlikely that he will depart Tottenham, however his name has recently been linked with some of the top European clubs.

Pochettino has previously been linked to Real Madrid, however with Zinedine Zidane back at the helm, that prospect seems unlikely at the present time. Milan and Manchester United have also reportedly shown interested in the Spurs boss.

His attention for now though is primarily with tomorrow’s Champions League clash against Ajax.

If Tottenham are to taste success, they will have to overturn the 1-0 deficit suffered in the first leg.
