
Sydney FC have picked up where they left off prior to the break, making light work of the Brisbane Roar to consolidate their position on the table.
After missing a week due to the international break – fans did not have to wait long for the action as Sydney FC youngster Aaron Calver broke the deadlock inside the first minute.
The 23-year-old finding himself on the end of an early set piece to put the Sky Blues ahead with his second goal of the season.
Despite finding an early lead, the visitors were unable to take further advantage on the scoreboard – giving the Roar hope of a comeback.
Donning the maroon kit – youngster Nicholas D’Agostino sparked his side into action, finding Frenchman Eric Bautheac for the equaliser.

D’Agostino making an immediate impact – after being brought on for Eli Babalj – finding Bautheac with a near-impossible pass to get the Roar back into the match.
Though this resurgence was short-lived with fortune favouring the Sky Blues as Siem De Jong’s attempt struck the post and fell into the path of Adam Le Fondre – who fumbled the ball into the back of the net.
De Jong would soon join in the fun with brilliance of his own.
The Dutchman rolled the ball past Roar goalkeeper Jamie Young onto the tightest of angles before somehow finessing it into the back of the net – stunning the crowd.
De Jong’s impossible goal sealed the win for the Sky Blues who now sit four points clear of Melbourne Victory.
