Mohamed Salah is ready to avenge his demons from last season’s Champions League final by winning the competition this time around.

Salah was subbed off after 30 minutes in last year’s final in Kiev after injuring his shoulder while in a tussle with Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.

The Egyptian has put all that behind him now and is ready to make an impact and help his side be crowned European champions for a sixth time.

“I am so happy that I have the chance to play another final. I hope I can play the full game this time,” he said.

“Of course this is our second final in a row. We lost the first, but everything feels better this time around and we have more experience.

“We are back in Liverpool, and we are feeling very motivated as players and coaching staff. I hope we can win it this time.”

Salah has been outstanding this season, scoring 26 goals in 51 appearances across all competitions. His match-winning ability has been vital in leading the Reds to consecutive Champions League finals.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will be sweating on the fitness of Salah’s strike partner Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian has not featured since the 2nd of May, where he came on as a sub in the club’s 3-0 loss to Barcelona in the first leg of the semi-finals.

Manager Jürgen Klopp is confident however that his star attacker will be available.

“Bobby trained, was part of training last week and looked really good, everything was fine,” he said.

“Then we took him out again. He will be in training from tomorrow on again.”
