Western Sydney Wanderers have kept their slim finals hopes alive after defeating Brisbane Roar 4-1 at Suncorp Stadium.
Keeping the finals door slightly ajar – the Wanderers now sit eight points behind sixth placed Wellington Phoenix with seven rounds remaining.
Travelling to Brisbane – the Wanderers came in following a rare period of form where they had won two of their last three league matches.
Despite conceding first, the visitors hit back with three unanswered goals before half time before Roly Bonevacia added a fourth in stoppage time.

Arguably one of Brisbane’s best this season – Dylan Wenzel-Halls opened the scoring in the seventh minute with what could be the Roar’s goal of the season.
Cutting in onto his right foot on the left wing, the 21-year-old struck the ball as sweetly as one could into the top right corner.
Though this moment of brilliance was soon nullified as January recruit Mitchell Duke equalised for the Wanderers in the 15th minute.
Duke’s effort was hit low from distance and took a deflection off Jamie Young before rolling into the back of the net.
This rare error from Young buoyed the visitors who found the lead in the 35th through talisman Oriol Riera.
It didn’t take long for the Spaniard to add his second which, despite objection from the Roar defenders, stood despite Riera scoring from an offside position.
The goal was awarded as it was Brisbane’s Jacob Pepper who headed the ball towards Riera in the offside position – legalising the goal.
Taking this two-goal lead into the break, it did not appear the Wanderers were going to let it slip.
With the result all but confirmed – Bonevacia added a fourth in the 92nd minute, capping off a third win in four for the Wanderers who move eight points shy of the top six.
